Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. I am 76 years old on 26 September and had a total right hip operation some 5 years ago. I had had increasing pain in this side since the age of 19, when I had acute ankylosing spondylitis and towards the end I was unable to sit up in the bath or reach my right foot. the operation was a total success and I have been without pain since. My splendid surgeon suggested that my left hip may also need attention in the future, but, so far, I have had no problems on that side.
4 years ago,as a healthy challenge and because I enjoy walking with my 3 collie dogs, Chloe, Soames and Leo, I decided to attempt the South West Coast Path. We have now completed 280 miles from Minehead to Praa Sands, in stages, over 34 walking days. As we head towards the half way stage of the 635 mile walk to Poole, Dorset, I thought our efforts might be worthy of sponsorship in a good, related cause and have selected Arthritis Research UK. I will up-date this site with our progress in the months ahead. Please consider a donation to this worthy cause.
