Story
Did you know that a nurse walks an average of 5 miles a day, that is approximately 25 miles a week, and 100 a month? During April I will be walking the Cransley Way with the aim of matching the distance of 100 miles on walks within Northamptonshire.
On this page and my linked Strava page I shall walk - and denote - a selection from the 'Walking Close To...' books by Clive Brown using an alphabet letter as follows: K=Kettering; L=Lutterworth; M=Market Harborough; N=Northampton; O=Oundle; P=Pitsford Water; Q unassigned; R=Rockingham Forest; S=Stilton; T=Thrapston; U=Uppingham; V unassigned; W=Wellingborough - followed by a Walk number from within that book: thus 'R7' would denote that on the specified day I walked Rockingham Forest walk No.7 ('Geddington Chase'). When I walk a circuit in the reverse sense to the directions supplied by Clive Brown in his books I shall use the word "reversed" followed by an abbreviation "clo." (=clockwise) or "a-c" (=anticlockwise) to give extra emphasis to the way round I tackled it.
I have chosen to sign up to raise some much needed funds for Cransley Hospice. Your support is valued and appreciated more than ever right now and the fundraising team at Cransley is encouraging each participant to raise at least £120 in support of Cransley Hospice. Each £120 raised will help fund a nurses shift of hospice care.
