Virgin London Marathon 2012 · 22 April 2012 ·

The nation’s leading first aid charity. Every year, more than 400,000 people learn how to save a life through our training programmes. Our volunteers provide first aid in their communities and thanks to them fewer lives will be lost needlessly. Raise money. Help save lives. Be the difference.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

After many years of "playing" at running and entering the London Marathon on the off chance of getting an entry it came as a suprise to get an acceptance letter for this year.

I have decided to support St John Ambulance in memory of my late Grandfather who spent much of his free time volunteering for them and was eventually recognised by being awarded Knight of the Order of St John.

As a keen Mountain Biker I have also benefited from the presence of St John volunteers at many of the events I have taken part in although thankfully have never had to call on their services.

It's difficult to find time with today's busy life and work to volunteer as he did so enduring 26 miles and 385 yards to raise some cash is the least I can do.

Please dig deep and donate now to keep me motivated with the training as for me the challenge has already begun.

Many thanks

Nick
