The Marathon Des Sables is a 150 mile marathon run in one of the harshest places on Earth - The Sahara Desert.

I'm running the race in memory of my brother, who fought for 7 years, but eventually succomed to mental ilness and passed away in January of this year. I am raising money and awareness for Mind, the mental health charity.

I am going to have to carry everything I need to survive in the Desert on my back for the duration of the 6 day race, including food. I'll be running in temperatures up to 50 degrees celcius during the day, over sand dunes, rocks, and even mountains.

I have a long way to go to get to the start line, but I've also got a long way to go to reach my target of raising £10,000 for Mind - A mental health charity who's mission it is to ensure that no one has to face a mental health problem alone.

I need as much support as I can get and any money you can spare to go to such a good cause would be really appreciated!
