Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page - yes we are totally mad but we are doing this for a great cause - Prostate Cancer, The Willen Hospice and The Hummingbird Centre.

Cancer has an impact on us all, either directly or indirectly and we are focussed on raising as much money as we can towards the constant fight to combat this dreadful disease. Willen Hospice and Prostate Cancer UK need no introduction given the great work these 2 charities have done for a number of years. Our 3rd charity, The Hummingbird Centre is newly formed and I am pleased to give you greater insight into the excellent service they provide.

The Hummingbird Centre provides Complementary Therapy, Support and Friendship for people affected by cancer in the Bicester area. Please donate to support our cause. Sadly there are many people affected by cancer, the growing town of Bicester in Oxfordshire has, until now, had no local place for patients and their families to meet, that is why The Hummingbird Centre was formed to offer a friendly and welcoming centre, somewhere for people to relax, meet others in a similar situation, use the various complementary therapy treatments available or simply to have a break and a cup of tea.

Counselling support and guidance is available together with arts and craft activities and much more. They provide the opportunity to escape daily life pressures, talk to people who can help and support practically and emotionally. As with many charities they are reliant on the goodwill of volunteers and supporters. Please help us raise funds for this extremely worthwhile centre, all donations are very gratefully received and wisely spent to provide the support to our patients and their loved ones, helping them cope and live well.
