Creating Environmental Leaders · 15 November 2017

Emerging Leaders exists to bring the best leadership development into the worlds most vulnerable communities. Why? Because no sustainable change can happen without good leadership. Why? Because where you are born in the world should not determine your access to the best development opportunity.

Story

Dear friends,

I have been volunteering for Emerging Leaders for a few years now, I became involved as I was fascinated whether the idea of bringing world class leadership principals to struggling communities would work. I knew creating leaders in the workplace helped business but what effect would it have on those with little or nothing.

The answer is massive, since starting the training here in South Africa 3 years ago we have trained approx 10,000 people, from farm workers in Grabouw to prisoners at Pollsmoor, and the stories of transformation have become too numerous to tell.(some are on our facebook page)

This latest project of creating environmental leaders in schools has already won a grant from The Table Mountain fund to allow us to give small grants to each school in which we do our leadership training, for them to run an environmental project.  ELSA needs to raise the funds to actually do the training.

I am having a cocktail party on Friday 17th to raise £1,351 in South Africa (R25k at todays exchange rate) and I hope to be able to raise the same amount amongst my UK based friends even though they might have to wait for their cocktail.  Please give what you can every single penny is used for training, there are no admin or wage costs (except for JustG charge)

£15 will train one child (12-15yrs old) over 15hrs.
