We help and support Barnet's older people to stay active, engaged and independent

Story

We are three siblings completing an Olympic distance triathlon at Hever Castle, Kent to raise money for Age UK Barnet. The race involves a 1.5km swim, a 40km cycle followed by a 10km run. We're not very fit (especially the boys), and it's not going to be pretty, but its for a worthy cause.

Our Dad Peter is a trustee of Age UK Barnet and it's through him we're learning how many lonely and isolated older people there are who need Age UK Barnet's support. The events the charity organises, the befriending, the handy person service and the home from hospital help are vital to hundreds of older people in the Borough. Age UK Barnet also offers two day centres where people can enjoy a range of activities and classes, as well as meet their friends and have a hot lunch. These are people who would otherwise spend their days alone.

Although Age UK Barnet is affiliated to Age UK, the campaigning organisation, it is a standalone charity providing the boots on the ground actually delivering services to older people in Barnet. Your donation will go on Frontline Services and really benefit people.

Thank you so much for your support.
