Story

Thanks very much for visiting and considering supporting!

Despite having thought I'd retired from these sorts of challenges, on August 2nd I'll be taking on a 100 miles on my bike around the Olympic road race course in order to support a great project. I am aiming to help raise the funds towards building a new nursery and primary school in northern Uganda. Through the JM Trust, we have worked with a local team of teachers whom we've supported in sponsoring orphan and disadvantaged children to attend schools in the northern Ugandan town of Kitgum since 2005. In recent years, they founded their own nursery/primary to meet demand for quality education and have 100 children already, but in temporary rented premises. They've long sought to establish a permanent school, and this year we've helped them purchase their own land for a school. Now we are aiming to raise about £7-10,000 to do the first phase of planning and building of the school. As an area which was ravaged for more than a decade from an insurgency war, where child abduction and enforced soldiering were common, it desperately needs the help to improve the education and opportunities for children. Anything you might consider sponsoring me for will go to a wonderful cause, and help me up the hills and along the long 100 miles..

With many, many thanks

Nick
