Nick's Swim from the Principality of Sealand

Swim from the Principality of Sealand · 25 August 2021
On July 25th, I will be undertaking my longest solo swim to date from The Principality of Sealand back to the Suffolk Coast. At approx 15km this swim may take anything up to 7 hours to complete, it will be a huge test of endurance, both mentally and physically. And to make it even harder, I am hoping to be one of the first people to complete it without a wetsuit (skins). On top of this, I will also have to endure the usual sea swimming joys - sewage, jellyfish, the weather & tides.
As a bit of context, The Principality of Sealand was originally an anti-aircraft gun platform in the North Sea, and has been described as the world's smallest country as it is not recognised by any sovereign state. Anyone that completes this swim is awarded a Knighthood, so if I am successful, you can address me from this point as Sir Nicholas Stagg of Sealand.
Again, I will be swimming to raise money for the amazing Aspire charity. All money raised will enable Aspire to continue the fabulous work helping people who have been paralysed by Spinal Cord Injury, supporting them from injury to independence. I am in awe of the work they do, and would love to be able to give more to their charity.
As always, I appreciate your generosity, and will update you on my progress on the day.
