Western Isles Cycle Challenge · 24 August 2018

FC Catering was set up in 2000 to provide training and employment opportunities in recognition of the social and economic benefits that are gained by being part of a support work environment. We currently support over 30 trainees each week, they are able to learn, work, and be part of community.

Story

Starting in August I will be cycling 525 miles from the Isle of Bute up to the Isle of Harris and back over 8 days with a group of friends. In all we will visit 12 Islands on the trip. With 14 ferries to catch none of which can be booked in advance the trip will be both a physical and logistical challenge!! It's the furthest I've ever cycled and I've been training hard over the last few months often visiting the Fly Cup for a welcome coffee and cake!

Fly Cup Catering in Inverurie was set up in 2000 to support young adults with learning disabilities. The cafe in Inverurie gives trainees the opportunity to have a fulfilling role in their local communities by providing professional catering training and a path to employment opportunities within the catering sector.
