BUPA Great North Run 2008 · 5 October 2008 ·

Far too many of us have felt the pain of losing someone we love. With your donations, we power groundbreaking cardiovascular research to save and improve lives, bring hope to families, and keep hearts beating across the UK.

Story

Thank you for visiting our fundraising page. We have decided to raise funds for the British Heart Foundation.

We run the Great North Run - Nick for the first time, Charlie for the third time - in memory of our father, Brian Elliot, who sadly passed away this year on 2nd July. Our father had a history of heart problems and was fortunate enough to have received treatment in a specialist unit that receives funding from the British Heart Foundation. As well as providing support to clinical services for both the young and old with heart related problems the British Heart Foundation is a major investor in medical research. Their aim is to provide further hope in the prevention and treatment of heart disease in the future.

And a word from our charity ... Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It's also the most efficient way to sponsor us: British Heart Foundation gets your money faster and, if you're a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation. So please sponsor us now!

If you want to help with our fundraising but would rather give another way, we have plenty of sponsor forms! Please contact either of us directly and we will find the easiest way possible to relieve you of your cash!

We will run the distance, but let us all support the cause of the British Heart Foundation.

Thank you. Nick & Charlie.
