On August 10th I will be taking part in the Ride London 100 charity bike ride and I would really appreciate it if you could spare a couple of quid and sponsor me for this event. 

What is Ride London 100?

It's a 100 mile bike road following the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Road Race route through London and Surrey finishing on the Mall. There will be 20,000 riders on the day raising money for many different charities, I am raising money for Anthony Nolan.

About Anthony Nolan

For those not familiar with Anthony Nolan's work they help save the lives of people with blood cancer (e.g. Leukaemia) by running a bone marrow register that matches those that need transplants with donors. About 30% of people in need can find a suitable donor in their family. But the other 70% rely on a stranger to save their lives. 

Why I wanted to raise money for them

My little sister Kate contracted leukaemia when she was very young and went on to make a full recovery as she responded to chemo. Had she not responded to chemo the next step for us as a family was to be tested to see if we were a match for a bone marrow transplant. If we hadn't we would have relied on Anthony Nolan to help us find one. Ever since then I have been on this register and I urge everyone up to the age of 30 to do so.
