When Dad was 50 he walked to Everest base camp. He only had to carry his personal belongings. The only other things the Sherpas wouldn't carry was his fags! Next April Me, Max my eldest son and a few mad blokes are walking to Everest base camp....In the footsteps of Peter J Hopkinson and all that.

I am currently about 20 stone, have a bad back, dodgy knee and can't think of anything I would rather not do than a 16 day camping trip in the cold with a load of bonkers blokes from the Bolton area!

So please sponsor me..WHY? because every single penny will go towards helping young people change their lives, to become better citizens and to have some of the chances that you and me take for granted.

This is a fricken hard thing for me. Although I'm proud to be stout...the belly will have to go. The back and knee will have to be fixed. Go on put some money down and help the kids. It will make you feel better.
