Hi there and welcome to my 'Around The Lake For 80 Days' epic adventure-comedy cycle challenge to raise funds for Labrador Retriever Rescue Southern England (LRRSE)!

I got the idea for this challenge after seeing a 99K Cycle Challenge on facebook for another doggie charity.  I'm always up for a challenge but 99K didn't seem much of one to be honest so I came up with the rather more adventurous notion of cycling around Grafham Water once a day for 80 days!  

The cycle track is about 9 miles I think so 80 times around is 720 miles, 1158km!  That seems pretty challenging especially considering my trusty bike had been rather unused this summer!

Starting on the 9th August, if I cycled every single day the challenge would be complete by 28th October but I think I need to allow a little flexibility so my goal is to complete the challenge by Christmas and raise £1158 - £1 for every km.

I will post updates, photos and stats to let you know how my challenge is progressing in the Grafham Waggers facebook group so you can all have a laugh at my discomfort along the way.  If you'd like to join in and cycle with me for a day that would be awesome!

LRRSE uses all donations to re-home & save the lives of unwanted and stray dogs.  It is run entirely by wonderful volunteers - they have no full or part time employees.  Every penny raised counts and helps another dog realise its potential and to find its new home.
