Red Balloon Educational Trust helps young people who aren't able to go to mainstream school right now because of trauma like severe bullying, mental ill-health and SEND. We help them get back on their feet, live happier, fuller lives and re-engage with education.

Story

Spurred on by England's fantastic win against Australia in the Ashes, I feel I can conquer any mountain - so that's exactly what I am going to try and do!!

I am going to climb Mount Kilimanjaro in Africa next January. And, yes, I have already started training....

I am raising vital funds for the Red Balloon Learner Centre (see left). Donations will help Red Balloon raise the £65,000 required to renovate the learner centre in 2006, in its 10th anniversary year. This will include a family therapy centre in the loft and a new teaching and learning area in the basement.

Red Balloon is the only charity of its kind, and has a fantastically dedicated team working towards a very worthwhile cause. I have contributed £600 towards the cost of the trip, and would be very grateful if you would like to sponsor me on my Red Balloon Kilimanjaro Challenge. Do get in touch if you have any questions and many thanks for your support. (If you are a UK taxpayer, Gift Aid will add an extra 28% of your donation in tax at no cost to you.)
