We are THE Teesside Charity! With our supporters, we donate money across Teesside to our amazing charities, community groups and people who most need our support.

Story

The Headlight Project has been founded in memory of Russ Devereux.

The aim of the Headlight Project is to work with children and to deliver emotional resilience programmes in schools, as early intervention enables children to cope in later life with stressful situations or crises.

The community interest company has been founded by Catherine Devereux.

Russ Devereux died by suicide on 6 May 2018, aged just 41.  He was the last person anyone would have expected to end his life.

Catherine and Nick were colleagues at The Endeavour Partnership LLP and he had the privilege to meet Russ and their beautiful three daughters.

Nick was in a small town called Viola in Idaho when the devastating news arrived ~ not the most convenient place to offer support and friendship.

Mark is Pro Vice Chancellor (Learning and Teaching) at the University of Teesside, a Prince's Trust Regional Advisor, and has written and researched in the fields of youth crime, youth justice, drug use, and policing.

We are both committed to making Teesside a better place to live, work, and do business.

We are running the Berlin Marathon on Sunday 29 September 2019.  Some of you will know that Nick suffered a compression injury of the spine which clamped onto his sciatic nerve during the September 2018 GNR.

The recovery has been slow and painful.  Nick has never run a marathon before in his life, so this is not going to be easy.  Nick has run the Middlesbrough 10K (49:06), both Mark (1:44:15) and Nick (1:55:58) have run the Great North Run, and now the Berlin Marathon is perilously close so please donate anything that you can...
