The London Marathon 2017 · 23 April 2017

Every day 250 people in the UK start losing their sight. With your help, we can be there when people need us most, support independent living, create an inclusive society and prevent avoidable sight loss. Every pound you raise will help create a future where sight loss is no longer a barrier.

Story

Welcome along to my most exciting running adventure since I started taking this incredible sport seriously in early 2016. The opportunity to run this iconic event is a dream come true and to raise money for the RNIB makes it even more satisfying. I was partially sighted from birth, lost the sight in my right eye when I was 15 and my remaining vision in my mid 20s. I'm probably only coming to terms with the grief and trauma of this in my late 30s and yet, through all the ups and downs, the amazing provision of the RNIB has enabled me to live an independent and fulfilling life. I want to help raise more money for this remarkable organisation so that I and thousands like me can continue to receive the support we need. For those of you who know me well, you'll also know that running is a deeper, more profound and significant experience for me - it's my road to recovery. Please join me as I take another big step forward in my life - well, a few steps...
