Willen Hospice MK to Amsterdam Cycle 2018 · 21 June 2018 to 24 June 2018 ·

A 300km cycle challenge from Milton Keynes to Amsterdam to raise vital funds for Willen Hospice.

Story

Hi - firstly, thank you for visiting my fundraising page.

Those of you that know me well, will be aware that I have a personal association to Willen Hospice and therefore I am always very keen to raise money for this amazing place, so that they can continue to offer the services that reach so many people. So, here I am with just a few weeks to go until I join the group cycling 300km from the hospice in Milton Keynes to Amsterdam to raise money!

Please see a few facts that highlight the need for fundraising so well:

- The hospice’s services are free to those they care for but to continue to offer that care, they need to raise 78% of the £5.9m annual running costs from the local community.

- Without local community fundraising, the hospice would open its doors on Monday and then have to close at noon on Tuesday, with no care offered for the rest of the week!

- To continue to offer care, the hospice needs to raise around £9 every minute!

Thanks for reading & many thanks in advance for any donations that you are able to give.

Nick

Please see below for more information about the hospice:

Willen Hospice provides specialist end-of-life care for adults, focusing on four key areas: specialist symptom control, emotional support, spiritual support and care for carers.Often the most distressing aspect of living with life-limiting illnesses is the types of pain and symptoms which can arise. Our team of dedicated staff and volunteers can give compassionate, specialist support to patients, and their family members, to help deal with, as they wish to, the physical and emotional effects of both their illness and treatments.
