SSNAP joint skydive · 24 April 2021

In the UK, 1 in 10 babies need specialist care at birth. SSNAP supports sick & premature babies and their families in the Newborn Care Unit at the John Radcliffe Hospital. Imagine your newborn baby needing specialist care at birth. Instead of those very special days getting to know your baby as a family, you’re catapulted into an unfamiliar world of incubators, wires, medical tests and interventions. While your baby has specialist treatment, we provide emotional and practical support to help you through the trauma & upheaval. We’re there to help families cope, and provide state-of-the-art medical equipment and nursing expertise that could save babies lives.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

So nearly 7 years ago Tabitha was, as you see in the cover photo and is now, as you see in the 2nd photo,in the gallery, healthy and happy.

So when I retired I decided to work  as a volunteer psychologist on the unit at the JR in Oxford  where she spent the first 4 weeks of her life. There,I also became involved with SSNAP that provides both practical and psychological support for all the families on the unit .

Fundraising has been tricky this last year ,but I wanted to start this new year with a personal effort and started discussing it with our newly appointed director.Well ,one thing led to another and I found myself agreeing to a skydive on April 24th ...and in the blink of an eye he had organised it ..! SO now it is time to ask  you for any thing you can spare to support me in this venture -please do if you can !
