The last one being my 'With Syria' event which was held on Sunday 10th of August 2014 to raise money for the Syrian refugees, who after 3 years of conflict are still in desperate need of help.
Three years after the conflict in Syria began, families are still suffering. Reaching into Syria is one of the greatest challenges ShelterBox has faced. Since the violence began more than 80,000 people have been killed in Syria, and many thousands have been left with nothing. Syrian children have had to face horrors of war that no child should have to bear – interrogated, targeted and attacked, they’ve seen their family and friends shot dead. How do you begin to repair the magnitude of what they’ve endured?I
believe that in our local community we can stand together and show that we care
very much about the children and their families who have been left with nothing after any disaster.
By supporting any of the 'With Shelterbox' fundraisers you will enable Shelterbox to deliver the essentials that people need to rebuild their
lives in the aftermath of a disaster. They provide a tent for families
who have been left with nothing, thermal blankets and groundsheets, water
storage and purification equipment, solar lamps, cooking utensils, a basic tool
kit, mosquito nets and children’s activity packs are also included in the
shlterbox boxes.
