National 3 Peaks Challenge · 14 June 2014 ·

Lets Do It Anyway is a non profit Norfolk based Charitable Trust & our mission is to promote social welfare & equality inclusion for children and adults of all ages. We provide mobility equipment, services or facilities, to encourage people to get active, feel empowered and socially included.

Story

2 girls, 3 peaks, 24 hours, 10,000 ft, 25 miles, Sleep deprivation on 14th June 2014.

Whilst sitting in the garden sipping our drinks and lapping up the last of the summer rays it seemed like a good idea to agree a challenge for 2014. We wanted something with no running, no swimming, something that keeps our feet firmly on the ground..… so agreed that perhaps walking whilst surrounded by beautiful scenery would be good. Perfect, The National Three Peaks sounded ideal. Just walking up three ‘peaks’. How hard can it be?!

Now into our fitness regime we are starting to understand what we have let ourselves in for – 25 miles of walking with over 10,000 feet of ascent, whilst suffering lack of sleep as we will walk up Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon with an aim to complete within 24 hours including the 480 miles of travelling between… oh dear!

Coming from Norfolk perhaps we have seriously underestimated this challenge, but we are determined to support Let’s Do it Anyway - a local charitable trust for community causes.

Let's Do it Anyway have chosen Musical Keys as the charity we will be walking for. They are a Norwich based charity providing a service to people with special and/or additional needs across East Anglia who for over 20 years have developed a comprehensive programme of music, movement and arts based activities designed to enable participants to learn new skills, build confidence and improve motor skills and coordination through enjoyable and interactive sessions.

Life presents challenges to all of us and it's on these occasions that the right knowledge coupled with the right support can make all the difference in how you cope. For this challenge our support will come from each other, our guide and those completing the challenge alongside us – and from you by helping us make a difference to the charity we will be walking for.
