RIDE FOR RHINOS  is a 250km horse back ride through the Waterberg region of South Africa, all in 7 days!……………🦏.

And this is why…………..I have been so lucky to have visited “The Ants Collection” in the Waterberg region of South Africa and see the white rhino up close and in their natural environment.

Seeing all the animals and especially the Rhinos in the wild was such an emotional experience that just seemed to take my breath away. A feeling I can’t really put into words to explain, but an experience I will never forget. It was an honor to be in their presence.

Every day is a  school day……….

After the pleasure of seeing the Rhinos comes the pain and sadness of learning the plight they face on a daily basis.  Hearing how The Ants Collection have lost rhinos in the past to poaching and the lengths the poachers go to is heartbreaking.  (I won’t go into detail here but all I can say is it’s beyond cruel 😢). 

Thanks to Ants and other reserves in the area for their conservation work and The Waterberg Rhino Uk charity for the funding of work and security, they help  in protecting the Waterberg’s population of White Rhino. By providing funds for 24/7 security guards, equipment and security cameras around the routes in and out of the region and for local projects in educating local communities in protecting their asset - THE RHINO - rather than poaching them!

All donations to this charity are a vital part in keeping these Rhinos protected and educating the next generation of custodians.
