Motor Neurone Disease moves fast. It takes away time, it takes away independence and it has no cure. Every day we support people affected by MND. We fund ground-breaking research. We campaign for better care. We’re here for everyone who needs us. Because with MND, every day matters.

Story

Thank you for visiting my JustGiving page!

So, I am running the Edinburgh Marathon next year in May. I was going to say that I am amazed that someone managed to convince me to run that far all at once. I mean, I can run a few miles but A MARATHON?! But to be quite honest, it really wasn't a hard decision.

The reason why I am running is to fundraise for the Motor Neurone Disease (MND) Association and promote awareness of their charity.  MND is a rare condition in which specific parts of the nervous system become damaged. This damage affects important muscle activites such as walking, speaking, swallowing and breathing. There is no cure for this disease and as it progresses, the affected activities become difficult and eventually impossible to achieve.

Knowing someone who struggled with this disease and seeing the pain that it caused their family, was truly heart-breaking and emphasised the importance of the work that this charity do. Therefore, I am also running in memory of David Peall; may he rest in peace.

Any donations that you wish to give in support of the MND Association and of my personal challenge (eek!) would be truly (x a billion) appreciated. Much love xx
