Dinnington Resource Centre is THE community centre of Dinnington. It provides many valuable services to the community as well as allowing lots of different groups, clubs and societys to meet and fulfill their aims.

Story

I will be cycling just short of 500 miles.
Setting off from near Ypres and up to Rotterdam and then sailing to Harwich.  I will then cycle through Suffolk, Norfolk, Lincolnshire etc up to Dinnington.  Iam hoping to complete this in 8 days beginning on the 17th April, getting into Dinnington on Saturday 25th.

The reason I am doing it is because I went to School at Dinnington (then) High School.  I just feel I want to give something back to the community.   My step father still works there & my father was born there.

With the WWI commemorations continuing, I have found a local soldier who was killed in action in May 1915. Our soldier is Gunner Charles William Harris of the Royal Field Artillery who died on 4 May 1915 in the Second Battle of Ypres. He is buried at Poperinghe Old Military Cemetery.

He was born in Bolsover in 1888 and was a miner in Dinnington, living at 15 Rotherham Road
