Story
I am taking part in a Charity Sky Dive on the 15th May this year! Which is Leighton’s birthday 💙
My boys lost their dad at a young age and whilst i got them counselling at the time, neither of them wanted to talk to a counsellor and it was hard to know what to do as they were so young, their brains could not cope with the grief.
My biggest fear for them is that the grief will come back in later life in the form of mental health stuggles, illness, issues and i don't want for them to have to figure out in their 40's like most of us do that any issues they have all relate back to this childhood trauma.
I dealt with it the best i could at the time, i have no idea if what i did or said was right or wrong or how this might impact them in their adult lives and i want them to be able to talk to other people who know exactly how they feel and what they have been through.
This charity is run by young people for young people to talk about loss at a young age and i feel that if they now, as they're becoming adults, have somewhere to go/resources to help them as they mature to deal with what it was like to suffer that terrible loss at such a young age, it will only help them as adults.
