Around this time last year ( 2009 ) my grandpa was diagnosed with Asbestosis through his time working in the ship yards. He sadly passed away on my birthday this year ( 31st March 2010 )

So I have decided rather than sitting around I am going to do something to help out.

I plan to climb Ben Lomond on my birthday next year ( 31st March 2011 ) in memory of my grandpa. To some it may not seem the biggest of challenges, but those who know me will know I am not the fittest person in the world and have never reached the summit of any hill/mountain. So to me its a tough one!

I have chosen the Action on Asbestos group as my charity as although Asbestos may not have been the outright reason my grandpa passed away it was a contributing factor and I would like to help them help others.
