GNR has been on my bucket list for years, even though I couldn’t run! With a big birthday coming up this year I thought, if I don’t do it now, when will I?! My running buddy, gym buddy, sidekick and dear friend Fiona is joining me! 😊 Neither of us can run really, but via a running club have worked up from the couch to 5k, to now being able to run around 8k. We can’t promise the best time but are certainly committed and will do our best, raising money for a great cause at the same time. 

I am a founder and the CEO of the charity. 

I have 3 sons, aged 18, 14 and 12. My eldest and youngest sons are autistic. 

My experiences with my own children made me realise just how much need there was for more support and understanding for families like mine. 

Autism Parents Together (Tees Valley) became a registered charity in 2019. We support local families of children who are either diagnosed with autism, or undergoing assessment.

Our main aim as a charity is to tackle social isolation and loneliness. We provide socially inclusive activities for autistic children and young people and include those on the pathway to a diagnosis. We want autistic children and young people to be given the same opportunities as all other children.
