This year I'll be celebrating my 50th birthday and wanted to honor the occasion by supporting a charity that's very close to my heart. 

I became a fully trained Samaritan just over a year ago and have learnt so much about the power of listening without judgement during that time and how the simple action of listening can help to bring those feeling overwhelmed to a much safer and calmer place in their moment of crisis. 

The Samaritans have enabled me to not only learn a new skill and to be part of an amazing team of selfless and dedicated volunteers but they have also taught me how the simple act of listening can help to save peoples lives.

I'm also hosting an end of year medieval banquet themed charity fundraising celebration event at Warwick castle too so please do come along if you can and join us as we party like it's 1499. You can find more detailed info about the event on my team fundraising page.
