Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I was supposed to be running the 40th Great North Run in September for the Overgate Hospice Team but like many events it had to be cancelled because of the Covid-19 pandemic. I'm very lucky that Overgate will honour my place for next year so I want to start my fundraising early to get some much needed funds for the hospice. Like many charities, they are struggling during this time and rely heavily on donations to provide end of life care and support to patients and their families.
Between now and September 2021, I will be setting myself a number of challenges that I hope are worthy of your donations.
My first challenge is to mark the 40th Great North Run with #GNRSolo, running 40 (or more) times between 28th June and 13th September.
In December I'll be running the Overgate Reindeer Run but with a twist. I'll have help from some little people who will all run a 3km loop of the village whilst I complete the half marathon distance......7 kids, 7 laps, 21km!
January is the month of RED. Every day I will do some form of exercise. I joined in with this last year and I found it a great way to kick start the year. With our Lockdown, exercise is more important than ever for mind, body and sanity!
Fear of Missing Out.....signed up for Manchester Marathon in October. The GNR run will now form part of my training plan.
I will be updating my page here as I take on more challenges.
