Story

I will running the London Marathon for Maggie’s Cancer Centre connected to the Royal Free Hospital in North London. As most of you know given my family history with breast cancer and myself being a BRACA2 gene carrier this increased my chances of developing breast cancer to 90%, therefore In December 2017 I underwent a preventative double mastectomy and reconstruction at The Royal Free Hospital.

While recovering in hospital a representative from Maggie’s Centre came to speak to me, this was unexpected as I wasn’t a cancer patient but they still offered me treatments for my recovery as well as support should I have needed it. All of this was free and truly helpful at a time when kindness and support was greatly appreciated

This will be my first marathon; it is something I have always hoped to achieve and I knew when I did I wanted to do it for a cause/charity that is truly close to my heart.

With your support, I would love to give back to a place that showed me unexpected support and love when I needed it the most and therefore if you would like to leave any donation , I would be SO grateful.
