Bupa Great North Run 2012 · 16 September 2012 ·

It’s unacceptable that more than half of people diagnosed with the deadliest common cancer die within three months. That’s why they need and deserve more. More research, more funding, more breakthroughs. More than hope. Together we’ll make that possible.

Story

I'm running in memory of my Dad, a huge personality with a massive heart. He was always there with sound guidance (alright there was some sh*t in there too) and big hug which I miss massively every day. He stayed so positive until the end; an attitude I must adopt to get round the run! Sadly he had this awful form of cancer that nobody knew about until it was too late and with survival and detection rates so low, it very rarely has a positive outcome for anyone who is diagnosed. So I'm "shuffling" the Great North Run to raise money to try and help find better diagnosis and treatment for this condition. My heart goes out to everyone who has lost someone this way and to those who are suffering.
