Velindre Cancer Charity helps deliver exceptional cancer services to over 1.7 million people across South East Wales. We help pave the way for a future with world-class, research-led treatments and supportive care that can change lives. Together, we will achieve Victory Over Cancer.

Story

In an attempt at glory as I enter 'middle age', I've decided to set myself a huge challenge in doing Cardiff Olympic Distance Triathlon (1,500m swim in the bay, 40k bike, 10k run).  I want to raise awareness of a chronic condition that I suffer from which is Endometriosis which makes all of this a mighty challenge but also raise funds for a great local charity Velindre. Velindre is Wales' premier cancer centre, providing care, support and treatment to cancer patients and their families. Unfortunately these days the likelihood is that we all know someone who has had cancer affect their lives.  My mother in law has received treatment from Velindre for Lymphoma and has never received anything but the best care.  Raising money for our local cancer services is really important as you never know when we might need their help.  I want my journey to not just be about me and the trials of Triathlon training but I want to use this opportunity to make a difference to do something worth while and hopefully make a difference.  I really hope you'll all support me on my journey.
