Barclays PowerPeaks Challenge · 6 July 2012 ·

Teams from Barclays will complete the PowerPeaks Challenge on Friday 6 July 2012. They will be raising money for Together for Short Lives and the Diana Award.

Story

On Friday 6 July teams from Barclays will be reaching for the skies in vertical challenges to raise money for charity.

I will be scaling the Heron Tower (46 stories), 1 Canada Square (50 stories) before finishing at the top of Barclays head office at 1 Churchill Place, Canary Wharf (32 stories). At 622 metres combined, this is the equivalent of climbing higher than the Makkah Royal Clock Tower Hotel in Saudi Arabia (the second tallest building in the world), with the added difficulty of having to travel in between!

See https://www.justgiving.com/company/barclays-powerpeaks to see how much we have raised so far!!

Our colleagues will be attempting the national three peak challenge; climbing Ben Nevis in Scotland, Snowdon in Wales and Scafell Pike in England in just 24 hours. In terms of scale, the three peaks total 11,177 feet, involves walking 26 miles and travelling 482 miles. Put into context, this is like climbing the Wildhorn in the Swiss Alps, while walking a marathon and driving from London to Strasbourg all in the same day!

Both teams will be raising money for Together for Short Lives* and the Diana Award.
