I work for a telecommunications company in central Manchester, and around 8 weeks ago we found out that our bosses wife and good friend Nicola has leukemia. The strain which Nicola has is extremely aggressive and the harsh reality is she will need a bone marrow (aka stem cell) transplant in order to live a healthy life. I am appealing for donations in order to be able to pay for the registering of new potential bone marrow donors- if you register as a bone marrow donor, you could be a match for someone- you could save a life. You could save Nicola's life.
In conjunction with the JustGiving page we are holding the Didsbury Fun Day 2015 in September (Sunday 27th) to raise even more money, and actually swab test potential donors with the help of Delete Blood Cancer UK on the day. We are going to raise money for Anthony Nolan, Delete Blood Cancer UK and HATS (Haematology and Transplant Services) at the event itself, and this page is dedicated to collecting for the £40 fee that it costs to register each new potential donor.
Please help- every 20 minutes someone in the UK is told they have blood cancer, and only around 30% people find a matching donor in their family. So come on, let's get together, raise some money, have some fun, and save some lives!
