We fund research and support services to help all those affected by ataxia

Story

This fundraising page is in memory of our daughter, sister, partner and son of Nicola Batty who died on the 1st November 2012, aged 49, of the central nervous system disease, Friedreich's Ataxia. This is a rare genetic disease which gradually deprived Nicola of her mobility and senses over her short lifetime. Nic never let this stop her living a full, active and colourful life and her determination has been an inspiration to many people.

She was a writer, painter, storyteller, funny, witty a wonderful mother to Jack. We will miss her.

Your donation will help with the support of those with FA, their families and research into this terrible condition which gradually took her mobility, independence, her sight, hearing and finally her speech. Please help to fund research into this little known disease..

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer.
