Brainwave is a charity that helps children with disabilities to achieve greater independence. Aiming to improve mobility, communication skills, and learning potential, through a range of specialist therapies.

Story

I wanted to raise money for Brainwave as its a charity that has helped a friends little boy. I thought what's the best way to repay all the good things he has done for my daughter(His goddaughter) than raising money for a charity that means something to them. Brainwave works with children with developmental needs; including, cerebral palsy, genetic conditions, Down’s syndrome, autism and developmental delay.

I have always been fascinated by Mount Everest and never thought about trekking to its base camp before as I heard it's abit of a challenge. But in January this year after watching the film 'Everest' I just knew I had to see it with my own eyes and walk in the steps of Rob Hall and Scott fisher,Not to mention all the other legends who have made it to the summit

This trek is pretty challenging not only physically but mentally aswell. It means I will have to leave my 3 children and husband for 16 days with a long spell of no contact.A High altitude trek means A high risk of altitude sickness. Some people even have to be rescued by helicopter. Most people suffer headaches, nausea,Sleepless nights, loss of appetite, waking up gasping for air. This trek will see me live as a vegetarian for 12 days as they are unable to store meat and sleep in very basic conditions.

Anything you can offer will be gratefully recieved.Thank you for your support
