Nic's Wonky Distance IONman Challenge · 7 March 2019

Around since 1923, SAMH currently operates over 60 services in communities across Scotland. These services together with our national programme work in See Me, respectme, suicide prevention, sport and physical activity; inform our policy and campaign work to influence positive social change.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Mental health affects everyone, either personally or through friends and family. I want to promote SAMH and the benefits of physical activity for good mental as well as physical health, whilst raising some cash for the charity.

My challenge this year is to complete my own version of an IRONMAN over three months and as I'll be doing this in collaboration with my work it will be my very own IONman or (IONwoman) :-)

JUNE - Run Mhor half Marathon 13.1miles

My first attempt at a half marathon (and it's a hilly one!) and by far the biggest of the three challenges set. I'm known as Nic "doesn't like to run a long way" Moriarty...give me a 5K any day!

JULY - 2 mile swim

A mere 129 lengths of the pool (might round it to 130 as I like even numbers)...eek!

AUGUST - Round the Forth Cycle 100km

A wee(???) leisurely cycle from the north side of the Forth Road Bridge to Kincardine to Stirling to Kincardine to Bo'ness to the south side of the Forth Road Bridge and back over.
