Story
My mum/our friend found out she had breast cancer in July. When people are diagnosed with cancer, they feel horrible and scared. We want that to change, we want them to feel supported and loved. During mum’s/our friend’s first chemo session she was given a Chemogiftbag, filled with lots of very useful items. She said it really helped her in very difficult times. It made us all so happy.
Chemogiftbags (www.chemogiftbags.org/) is a charity helping people going through a current diagnosis for breast cancer and having chemotherapy in the Thames Valley area in the UK.
What are we doing?
We, Eve and Eliza, want other people with breast cancer to feel as loved as my mum/friend felt.
Through this campaign, we are raising awareness of this great charity, and are fundraising. We are also making stuffed, lavender hearts for the bags. We will also run a cake stall for our local community in November or early December. Finally, we are writing a nature poem for the bag, which will hopefully switch people’s feelings a bit.
How can you help?
You can help in three ways:
- Donate via this JustGiving page. Your money will directly go to Chemogiftbags.
- Gift an item for the bags. There is an Chemogiftbags Amazon wish list which you can purchase an item from, or use these ideas and buy it somewhere else. You may also have un-used items at home. Contact us for drop-off contact details.
- Get creative! Make lavender hearts or other items (for example toilet bags, knit a blanket, make a heart shaped pillow). Contact us for drop-off contact details.
Thank you so much for reading this, and we of course hope you will help this great charity!
