In early 2011 I was diagnosed with Germ Cell Teratoma of the ovary a rare form of Ovarian Cancer. It was a huge shock to my family and I as unknown to us I was wrongly diagnosed for 2 and 1/2 years. 

In the beginning it was so hard to come to terms with. I had no idea what to think I was very niave at the age of 17. Positivity was the key. I was afraid of losing my hair and what struggles I was going to have to endure. 

Luckily, whilst receiving intense chemotherapy at the Beatson West of Scotland I had incredible support from CLIC Sargent. I was provided with a CLIC Sargent support worker who provided my family and I with support & reassurance. It was CLIC Sargent who provided me with money to go buy new clothes because I put on weight throughout treatment & being on steriods. Furthermore CLIC sargent have given me confidence & helped me getting back into college which I will attend in August. Without CLIC Sargent I don't know where I would be today. I can't thank them enough for the support they have given me. 

Hopefully by digging deep and helping support such a great charity we can continue to help families & children living with Cancer in the UK.
