Story
According to the United Nations, an estimated 93 million children around the world have disabilities. Eighty percent of those live in developing countries. The cost of caring for a person with a disability is prohibitive to most families and the social stigma involved with having a child with special needs can be very stressful. To the sad extent that many families go as far as hiding their disabled child away from the community in order to be socially accepted. In line with our mission, iQra International have taken responsibility to provide free medical treatment to poor disabled children in developing countries around the world. Having set-up two medical facilities in Asia (Bangladesh), including a dedicated Disabled Children's Hospital, we have now taken the initiative to build a Disabled Children's Rehabilitation Centre in The Gambia (Africa).
