Founded by Sir Jackie Stewart OBE, Race Against Dementia funds breakthrough research to prevent and cure dementia, harnessing the power of Formula 1 to fast-track a dementia breakthrough.

Story

I wanted to take on some challenges, (taking the 51 years into consideration!!) and raise money for this worthy charity - Race Against Dementia.  The first event is the Spartan Beast - which is 13 mile run through muddy hilly terrain with 30 challenging obstacles - any obstacle not completed requires 30 burpees before you can carry on!  Then next year I will start with a Sprint Triathlon and finish with a Full Triathlon.

My mum Pauline is a very special person and has always had a great zest for life.  She has always liked to keep as active as life allowed her and loved swimming.  I however, am a terrible swimmer so this will be my biggest challenge.  I have lessons booked in order to tackle the open water swim.

Claire and I have been fully exposed to what a devastating disease Alzheimers is and how it takes the person you know and love away from you.  Any amount we can raise from this page has to be a good thing!
