Story
We wanted to adopt a rescue dog, we looked at rescues in the UK then heard about the plight of dogs in Romania. In the U.K. healthy dogs are relatively safe, but dogs in the "public shelters" in Romania are thrown into filthy cages, unless adopted they are killed after 14 days, and the methods used are not humane.
The U.K based charity is totally volunteer run and has found homes over 500 dogs since 2014. The way the dogs settle in their new homes is amazing, many arrive scared, but with love and care they soon bond with their new families and give back so much more..
The Sufferfest Knighthood challenge is made using the Sufferfest app, which is linked up to the training bike. It is connected to a variable resistance trainer on the back wheel, when part of the ride on the video screen is up hill, the resistance increases accordingly. It is also connected with the back wheel to measure speed and also the crank to measure cadence, and to top it all off, a heart rate monitor also connects to the app.
The Challenge to become a Knight of Sufferlandria consists of 10 endurance challenges back to back, with no longer than a 10 minute break in between each. The complete challenge will take almost 10 hours, cover 132 miles and burn approx 6000 calories..
It is going to be hard, but worth every second if you can help me raise funds for a charity that is directly saving the lives of these dogs.
Even if you can spare £5 it is very appreciated, with gift aid that can buy 10KG of dried food, which will feed a dog for one month, or pay for an important vaccination.
Thanks for taking time to read this, please support this challenge.
