Story
Cycling has been a passion since a child and LEJOG has been a vague aim of mine for years. So I decided to get on and do it while I still (hopefully) can. My thinking was to see more of England, meet some people, test myself on this iconic endurance ride and to have a few laughs with my mate, Torquil.
Then, so many people kindly said they would sponsor me that I decided to see if I could earn a few quid for a good cause. Perhaps they know how difficult it is! So I am supporting Dementia UK. They support carers of people with Dementia, who have had an especially tough time in the last year. I know because my step-father has dementia and my mum cares for him. She copes brilliantly, but knowing when to seek help and finding out what is available is challenging. Dementia is something that touches so many people who get it, know someone with it, or care for someone with it.
I originally set a target of £1000, because that's how far it is in miles. However, due to the huge generosity of so many people I achieved my initial target and was persuaded to double it to £2000.
I have now completed LEJOG. However any donations will be very much appreciated, however large or small.
