Story

This is something I never thought I would type, Danielle - yes you read that right - Danielle and I will be taking on a monster of a challenge. The London Marathon (Virtually - but it still counts). We will also be doing a half marathon in June - on our birthday - to add to the challenges. We have decided to take on these challenges for our wonderful cousin, Natalie, who was diagnosed with cancer 4 years ago at the age of 24 and is currently now facing the biggest battle imaginable. She is fighting with true grit and her never give up attitude is such an inspiration, having completed several challenges herself to raise funds whilst also being unwell. She is being cared for by the world renowned Royal Marsden Hospital who are an amazing cancer hospital helping people in Natalie’s situation. Nat herself is a keen runner but at present can’t take part so we have decided to undertake this challenge to show Nat she is not alone in this fight and we are right there with her (from across the sea). Nat truly is one incredible woman and definitely shares the family stubbornness and determination to fight every day.

Now that 2023 is coming to an end it’s time to look forward to 2024. The London Marathon was so rewarding and gave us so much to be proud of, from keeping going to having the family at the finish. It was a day filled with love, laughter and tears but most of all support for each other and Nat. So with that done it’s now time to get back on it and start training for our 2024 event, this time it’s not just staying in Jersey, we will be heading to the big smoke and running round the roads of London. We can’t wait to feel the buzz of the day but there is guaranteed to be more tears that day. Luckily this time I doubt there will be any horses on the route. So here’s to London Landmarks half marathon 2024!

Natalie, we are so proud of you and the pure grit and will power you have and are showing in your battle! We are by your side all the way, sending lots of love and healing across the water 💕

Natalie, unfortunately lost her 4 year battle with cancer in November 2022, at the young age of 28 years. We are continuing to do this in her memory and to support The Royal Marsden, a world-leading cancer centre. By donating to our page you are helping us keep Nat’s legacy and memory alive and helping to ensure our gorgeous cousin is never forgotten. Every donation helps to make a difference, so please support us however you can. Thank you.
