We build constructive relationships to improve captive animal welfare globally

Story

Conservation and successful ex situ breeding of animal populations means that presently zoos or keeping animals in captivity is unfortunately inevitable given the current rate of habitat loss and destruction.

However, animals welfare in these situations can be improved if their enclosures and enrichment is carefully managed and upheld. I am running the Vitality half marathon for Wild Welfare because they do vital work to support this, and it breaks my heart to see animals stressed in captivity.

I appreciate you taking the time to read this, and I hope that you will help me contribute to a great organisation!

Wild Welfare is a global organisation committed to improving animal welfare for captive wild animals. By working together with animal welfare organisations and captive wildlife facilities, including zoos, aquariums and sanctuaries, we achieve long-term and sustainable solutions to the most critical issues facing wild animals in captivity. Our vision is a world where every captive wild animal is able to thrive and live a good life. Founded in 2012, Wild Welfare is a UK registered charity working globally to improve welfare for wild animals living in captivity. We are the first captive wild animal charity that is solely focused on improving welfare standards by uniting animal welfare NGOs and captive wildlife facilities around the world. Our projects help wild animals living in poor conditions in captivity. Using our knowledge and experience we build constructive relationships with animal welfare organisations, captive wildlife facilities and local communities, ensuring changes can be made to improve animal welfare.
