In memory of Gee Beadman

BTRC works with a Neurosciences team at Charing Cross and Hammersmith Hospitals (Imperial College London) to promote research into the causes of brain tumours and possible new treatments, to raise public awareness of the desperate need for this research and the current lack of funding.

Story

We had (darned that past tense) a great friend: Georgie Beadman, George, Gee.  Wonderful mother, splendid wife, brilliant potter, unique wingman, classy dancer.  Bonkers.  And then a brain tumour entered her life.  Our lives.  And it finally got her in February 2015 when she died.  Deeply sad times.

Point being  we need to raise money to further research in this area which is still claiming too many victims.   So in ONE WEEK'S TIME, on Saturday 17th September, a band of insane friends and family will walk 1km for every year of Gee's life - 42km in total - along the South Downs Way.  Otherwise known as 26 miles.  So we're throwing in a bonus 0.2 miles and making this a marathon.  Why not?!

Over to you now.  I don't ever do asking for reaching into pockets (limited opportunities, I grant you) , but this time I am.  It matters.  Please give as generously as you are able - everything is hugely appreciated.

In short: donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU.
