Story
I wrote ‘The Clap Song’ to initially show respect for our NHS on Thursday’s. I now want to take it a step further, and raise money for our front line. I will also continue to write songs for our NHS.

Nikki’s Story
The Story Goes.........Something Like
At the age of 9 I was knocked down by a car, my life was turned upside down. I was in a comma for 3 months and suffered serious scattered brain damage and was in the Hallamshire hospital in Sheffield. I then woke up from my comma and was told I would never walk, talk or move again, but me being me I rose to the challenge. Through massive determination and huge help from the NHS and physio, 5 years later I started walking and moving. Throughout my mum, dad and sister supported me endlessly in learning to walk and talk.
I went back to school, did my exams and went to comprehensive school, completing all my GSCE’s. I then wanted to work with the police. I worked with them regarding road safety and toured the local schools assisting young children how to cross roads. For this I gained an MBE which was kind of cool but I kept my feet on the ground and didn’t lose my balance with reality.
I then decided on a particular day I was going to contact a local music studio as my true passion was writing music. I came up with a name for my CDs, the first being ‘This is who I am’ and portrays who I am and how I feel. The following album was to represent my dad and is called the ‘Miner’s strike’. In 1990 I was knocked down and my dad worked at the local pit. I have been writing music everyday since.
Now I have turned my dreams into a reality and I want to make changes to the way communities come together to get through tough times like this.
This is why I wanted to write ‘The Clap Song’ , to get our community together and show some support for our NHS. The NHS are our hero’s.
