UK Friends of Schneider Children's Hospital raises funds to provide life changing medical equipment to treat sick children at this inspiring and unique hospital. Schneider Children's Medical Center of Israel cares for all children irrespective of race, religion or nationality.

Story

For just over 26 years I have managed to avoid my family’s favourite pastime of Marathons, Triathlons & Iron Man competitions, I am proud (& a little scared) to say however that this will change come Sunday 15th May, I have succumbed to the Bibring gene, decided to don a wet suit and other such stylish attire & signed myself up for the Eton Dorney Super Sprint Triathlon.

I will be swimming (trying to keep my head above water in the sexy wetsuit) cycling (on my gorgeous new bike...with curly handlebars, at least I'll look the part!) & running (perhaps crawling may be a more appropriate word)

I’m raising money for our close friends Marc & Tova Benezra who 2 months ago unexpectedly welcomed Baby Ella into the world, at 3 months premature & weighing only 760 grams she gave us all a scare. We are happy to say after fantastic care she is slowly putting on weight, developing and fighting off infections.

The family have decided to raise money for equipment for a neonatal unit in Israel, for which I will be donating the funds raised here. The equipment used is paramount not only to assisting doctors and nurses with stats and vital information, but also to simply saving lives.

Whilst they are currently living in London with Ella being cared for in Barnet neonatal unit; they know back at home, Schneider Children's hospital in Israel is upgrading & refurbishing their neonatal unit. The hospital is considered the 'Great Ormond Street' of the middle-east and cares for sick and premature babies and children from across the region.

Their journey, whilst far from over, has shown how reliant these units are on the complex pieces of equipment. With your help & generosity we can raise enough money to be able to make a difference and give these pre-term babies a real fighting chance.

We hope and pray that Ella will continue to develop & become stronger and support our friends in their want for their beautiful daughter to grow up with the knowledge that in her merit other premature babies will get the same chance of life.

Please help fulfil this dream for Baby Ella as well as our dear friends Marc & Tova who have been through a tough, challenging & unenviable start to their family life.

Thanks so much

Love

Nix xx
