Fundraising for Ronald McDonald House Charities
Story
I am raising money for a charity very close to my heart.
I have grown my hair over the last 12 months and will now be going for the CHOP in November .this will give me time to raise the money for my chosen charity and donate my hair to The princess trust for little girls who loose their hair due to cancer .
Reason I am doing this is to help other families to be close to their poorly children. My sister unexpectedly went into labour with her twins at 28 weeks. My nephew weighed 1lb 10oz and my niece 980gram. Shortly after their arrival my niece was rushed to hospital with suspected Necrotizing enterocolitis (NEC) is a serious intestinal illness in babies.
This resulted in her having to have a life threading operation. Sadly this was only the beginning she continued to develop with further symptoms and went on to have a further 3 operations and sadly ended up with sepsis. After spending her first 6 months of life in neonatal Our little fighter that she is she fought all this and is now a strong healthy little girl who is thriving.
I am raising money for the Ronald MacDonald House - When your child is sick, you want the best care possible even if it is hundreds or thousands of miles away.
The Ronald McDonald House allows families to access specialized medical treatment by providing a place to stay at little or sometimes no cost. If my sister didn’t have this option she would not of been able to be close to her babies. I will be forever grateful to John Radcliffe Hospital and the Ronald MacDonald team for all they did for my niece.
