Hi guys!

Those of you who know me might think I've gone a bit mental, as let's face it I'm no athlete. But after about 5 years of unsuccessful "I'm going to run a half marathon" New Year's resolutions, I've decided the time has come.

My training is on course and I no longer pass out after 4 miles, so if you do decide to dig deep into your pockets and sponsor me I can promise you it will be money well spent - 13-and-a-bit miles is surely worth a few bob!

I normally write a couple of charity stories a week for the paper (I'm a reporter at the Harrogate Advertiser) and it never fails to surprise me the lengths people are prepared to go to when they are raising money for charity - they really are an inspiration! So now it's time I followed the example. I might even write about myself to boost funds - is that allowed!?

In the meantime please sponsor me on this site. No matter how big or small it will make a difference and I would be ever so grateful - it would actually make the pain worth it! And believe me there is pain.

Martin House, which is based near Wetherby, is a brilliant charity and I know first hand all the brilliant work the guys do there because I've written about it!

It relies almost entirely on donations and fundraising to raise around £3.9 million a year to provide vital care and support for local children and their families.

So come on guys it's for the kids!

If you donate I will love you forever! Thank you in advance you lovely people.

Nina x
